Non-MGSA Students, including BA students, must audition in the Non-MGSA Student Session.  Non-Major Auditions do not include the MGSA Major Packets.

NON-MGSA WIND AUDITIONS: FALL 2024
Date: 9/5/2024
Time: 7:00PM – 9:00PM (students audition as they arrive, no time sign up)
Rooms 107 and 108

Repertoire: 
Students will be asked to play two short contrasting selections (approx. 5 minutes total) of their own choosing (something technical and something lyrical) in a relaxed meeting format with one of our faculty members in the band department. It can be a solo, etude, excerpt, etc.

NON-MGSA PERCUSSION AUDITIONS – Students will follow guidelines set by Area Heads Joe Tompkins (percussion). Students should contact the Area Heads for specific information regarding auditions for these instruments.

NON-MGSA STRING AUDITIONS: FALL 2024

Audition is required for everyone wishing to participate in Rutgers Sinfonia–including those who have participated in the past.
Modality: In Person
Where: Shindell Choral Hall in Robert Mortenson Hall
When: Wednesday, September 4, 2024, 7:00PM – 9:00PM (students audition as they arrive, no time sign up)
Repertoire: Students can perform one or two solo works that demonstrate your technique, tone, and musicality. Approximately 5 minutes in length.
Result: Students who pass the audition will receive an invitation to enroll for the course.  Audition result will be posted here (link to the result webpage) by Friday, September 6.
First Rehearsal: Sinfonia rehearsals will begin on Wednesday, September 11.
Sinfonia Rehearsal Schedule: Wednesdays from 7:30PM – 10:30PM on Douglass Campus
Sinfonia Performances: Sunday, 11/10/2024 5:00PM & Friday, 4/4/2025 7:30PM
