MISSION AND VISION

 

Mission Statement: To facilitate the implementation of evidence-based mental health practices in behavioral health and education settings that support recovery and resilience.

Vision Statement: To create behavioral health and education workforces that have the skills to effectively support the mental health needs of their program participants and/or students.

Goals

  • Enhance the capacity of the behavioral health workforce to deliver evidence-based and promising practices to individuals with mental health conditions.
  • Address the full continuum of services spanning mental illness prevention, treatment, and recovery supports.
  • Train related workforces (police/first responders, primary care providers, vocational services, etc.) to effectively serve people with mental health conditions.
  • Support schoolteachers and staff to address student mental health

The Northeast and Caribbean MHTTC provided training and technical assistance focused on evidence-based practices for people with serious mental health conditions, including Illness Management and Recovery, Supportive Housing, Supported Employment, and Supported Education. It also addressed comprehensive school-based mental health services and supports, wellness and recovery for people with mental health conditions and for providers, mental health and recovery among Hispanic and Latiné populations, and online, self-paced education courses covering many of these topics.

We delivered our services by providing resources, toolkits, online courses, trainings, webinars, and intensive technical assistance in both English and Spanish.
