Evidence-based practices (EBP) in mental health are treatment approaches grounded in the best available scientific evidence. They employ modalities and interventions demonstrated to be effective with the populations studied through rigorous research studies and clinical trials. EBPs are selected based on their effectiveness for specific issues, recognizing that not every EBP suits all problems. Examples include Supported Education, Supported Housing, and Peer Support.
Many EBP empower individuals to take an active role in their well-being. By collaborating with service providers, establishing clear goals, and implementing effective practices, people can significantly improve their mental health and overall quality of life.
