NewGeo was proud to participate in a recent Rutgers-Newark showcase that highlighted programs making a national impact on student success and upward mobility. The event, cosponsored by the Office of the Chancellor and the University Office of Equity and Inclusion, celebrated initiatives that exemplify Rutgers-Newark’s commitment to equity, opportunity, and community engagement.
Featured alongside other nationally recognized programs, NewGeo shared its mission to diversify the geosciences through community-engaged research, undergraduate mentorship, and experiential learning. Our team presented a poster and video overview of the program’s structure, community partnerships, and student impact — with a focus on environmental justice, public outreach, and student-led inquiry.
The event spotlighted programs that have helped Rutgers-Newark earn national attention as a model for social mobility in higher education. As we continue to expand our outreach and strengthen community partnerships, we’re honored to be recognized for our contribution to this transformative work.
