The Newark Geoscience Ecosystem (NewGeo) hosted its Fall 2025 Annual Conference on November 14th. 2025 at Rutgers University–Newark, bringing together educators, students, researchers, and community partners to explore strategies for advancing climate and environmental literacy through K–16 outreach.
The conference featured interactive workshops, discussions, a gallery walk, and hands-on demonstrations that showcased relationship-driven, community-engaged approaches to STEM education. Presentations highlighted student-led initiatives focused on inclusive pedagogy, experiential learning, and building pathways into geoscience, environmental health, and sustainability—particularly in urban contexts.
The event reinforced NewGeo’s mission to connect education, research, and community partnerships in support of a diverse and prepared geoscience workforce.
