On December 3rd, 2025, the Newark Geoscience Ecosystem (NewGeo) & Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences (DEES) co-hosted an Alumni Meet & Greet at Rutgers University–Newark, bringing together current students and recent graduates to discuss career pathways, professional development, and the real-world impact of an education in environmental and earth sciences.
The event created space for informal, one-on-one conversations and panel discussions, allowing students to learn directly from alums about internships, graduate school, workforce transitions, and career opportunities across environmental science, public health, sustainability, and related fields. Alums shared insights on how their academic experiences and learning helped prepare them for diverse professional roles.
The meet and greet reinforced NeNewGeo’s and DEES’ commitment to fostering mentorship, strengthening alumni connections, and supporting students as they navigate academic and career pathways in the environmental sciences.
