Using the VPN
Establishing a VPN Connection
From the Windows Start menu select Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. Enter “vpn.rutgers.edu” into the text field and select “Connect”.

Enter your Rutgers NetID and password into the “Username” and “Password” fields. Enter the word “push” into the “Secondary Password” field then select “OK”.

You will receive a request to authenticate your connection request via DUO on the mobile phone you had previously configured. After approving the request, you should be presented with a message acknowledging that you have established a connection to the RBHS network. Select “Accept”.

Note that if you are not presented with the message acknowledging a connection to the RBHS network, please contact RSDM IT.
Terminating a VPN Connection
From the Windows Start menu select Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client and then select Disconnect.
Because the Rutgers Access VPN has capacity for a limited number of users, a connection should only be established when it is necessary. Once you have completed your work please immediately terminate your VPN connection.
