Activating Your Account

Prior to connecting to the Rutgers Access VPN, you must enroll in DUO Two-factor Authentication, and enable the VPN service for your NetID.

 

DUO Two-factor Authentication (NetID+)

To enroll in DUO two-factor authentication, follow the steps outlined in the Rutgers OIT Enrollment guide for two-step login with DUO.

 

Enable Rutgers Access VPN Access

Prior to accessing the Rutgers Access VPN for the first time, you must activate the service via the Rutgers NetID system. To do so, visit the Rutgers NetID homepage at https://netid.rutgers.edu and select “Service Activation” (1) from the navigation menu.

 

 

After authenticating with your NetID, check the “Remote Access VPN, Cisco AnyConnect Access for Rutgers” checkbox (1), then click “Activate Services” (2).
