As of June 2020, Rutgers transitioned from using ZIXSECURE to the built-in encryption of Office 365 (known as OME).
As a result of this, here are a few things you need to know:
- We must no longer use the keyword ZIXSECURE in the subject, body or email signature. Using this term can cause unexpected issues with the email recipient.
- The vast majority of external organizations use compatible technology to support this secure messaging method.
- In the unlikely event that the recipients email service is not using this encryption, the recipient will not see the content. Instead, they’ll be emailed a failure notice. If you or your intended recipient receives this notification, or other delivery failure notice, please contact RSDM IT to determine the best solution.
