HOMES Multi-disciplinary Hoarding Risk Assessment
Hoarding and excessive clutter is a challenge for many people that can contribute to poor health and housing instability. The HOMES Multi-disciplinary Hoarding Risk Assessment is a brief assessment tool to identify risks related to excessive clutter. It was developed by Dr. Christiana Bratiotis and included in The Hoarding Handbook: A Guide for Human Services Professionals (2011). HOMES is a tool to identify areas with the highest risk and need for services.
Uniform Inspection Checklist (UIC) for Hoarding and Cluttering
The Center for Hoarding and Cluttering’s Uniform Inspection Checklist (UIC) is a tool that can help consumers with excessive clutter to learn about and prepare for apartment inspections. “The UIC covers the minimum safety and sanitation standards required by multiple inspection sources such as housing authority, property management, code enforcement, public health, and fire.”
