DMHAS is the administrator and partial funder of Community support services in partnership with Medicaid. Its major initiatives website includes current CSS documentation and regulation including:

The interim management entity is an independent reviewer of CSS submissions to Medicaid. A team of clinicians reviews CSS enrollment and rehabilitation plans & modifications for prior authorization for services.

Tele-health for licensed staff & services using tele-technology for unlicensed staff were allowed through the pandemic state of emergency. Temporary Telehealth Guidelines (Medicaid Newsletter 3/21/20) through the pandemic state of emergency,
Beyond the state of emergency, on 12/21/21, Governor Murphy signed telehealth legislation (S-2559), expanding telehealth for two more years for licensed health and mental health providers. This law does not extend telehealth to unlicensed staff currently using tele-technology.

Supportive Housing Connection (SHC) manages all of the housing vouchers contracted under DMHAS. The Division of Community Affairs (DCA) partners with SHC and DMHAS to administer the voucher program.
