Stephanie Stromp

Student

Stephanie Stromp is a first year Master’s student at the University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Coast Research Lab working under advisor Dr. Eric Powell. She previously received bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Marine Sciences from the University of Georgia. In her research, Stephanie is using SEFES, a spatially and temporally explicit model of the Atlantic surfclam (Spisula solidissima) fishery, to determine the effects of a climate-driven range shift in surfclams. She will be investigating the economic and fishery impacts of wind energy development as well as an evolving ecotone with ocean quahogs (Arctica islandica) on the Atlantic surfclam fishery.
