John Klinck

Professor

Dr. Klinck studies physical and biological processes in the ocean, on continental shelves and in estuaries. These efforts include analysis of observations of various kinds and construction of numerical models to represent these processes. Recent focus has been on ocean circulation on Antarctic continental shelves and the effects of ocean heat delivery on melting floating ice shelves. Current focus is on the interaction of wind farms in the Middle Atlantic Bight on surfclam and scallop fisheries. His main activity is creating agent based models representing bivalve population dynamics, fishing boat behavior, various management schemes, and the effect of wind farm areas on these fisheries.
