Laurence Giordano
Laurence is a New Jersey native who grew up in Edison. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physics and mathematics from Johns Hopkins University (2014) before shifting his focus to chemistry. While working in science education, he completed an associate degree and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Middlesex College (2017) and Rutgers University (2018). He later earned two master’s degrees—in physical chemistry and applied mathematics—at the University of Washington (2020, 2021). He then taught college chemistry for several years before returning to Rutgers to pursue his PhD. His research focuses on computational and machine learning approaches to problems in inorganic and physical chemistry. Outside of research, he enjoys reading, running, and 3D printing.
