“To educate as the practice of freedom is a way of teaching that anyone can learn.” — bell hooks
“What the educator does in teaching is to make it possible for the students to become themselves; Liberating education consists in acts of cognition, not transferals of information.” — Paulo Freire
As an educator, I am invested in ensuring that we engage in the process of learning. To accomplish this, I work to create an inclusive, welcoming, and accessible environment that facilitates critical thinking. What you can expect to learn from me, is that I expect to learn from you! I am genuinely curious about and interested in how you are thinking and are arriving at an understanding. As such, you will be supported and challenged to think critically, express thoughtfully, and engage consistently. You will be encouraged to ask questions and know what you do not know.
