About Us
Our Mission
The mission of uKnighted Minds is to encourage undergraduate research by providing students with an open-source, peer-reviewed platform for sharing and engaging with innovative research. We strive to empower students to explore their interests and break into the research field through collaboration and an emphasis on constructive feedback. Undergraduate authors are offered the rare opportunity to publish and receive editorial evaluation, ensuring the publication of ethical and evidence-based research. As the sole undergraduate psychology research journal at Rutgers, uKnighted Minds seeks to house an extensive collection of publications, meaningfully contributing to the Rutgers Psychology Department and the scientific field as a whole.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
uKnighted Minds, in both its creation and continuation, values diversity, equity, and inclusion. We recognize the prioritization of “WEIRD” or Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, and Democratic populations in both past and present psychological research, and strive to narrow the resulting gaps in the field through our inclusion and contributions to the broader community of psychological science. To achieve this, we aim to support and publish undergraduate work that investigates a wide range of populations, perspectives, and contexts. We believe that by doing so, we can strengthen the accuracy, relevance, and impact of psychological science as a whole, while representing Rutgers University as a leader in inclusive psychological research.
