Global Crosstown Walk Project

Do you teach undergrad students in courses that incorporate urban ecology, biodiversity, and related disciplines? Are you interested in comparing the city where you teach to other cities around the world? The Crosstown Walk project is a great way to illustrate how ecological and environmental variables change along socioeconomic and urbanization gradients. Students participating in a crosstown walk collect data on birds, plants, other taxa, and environmental along a transect that incorporates a socioeconomic gradient.
In September 2017 UrBioNet is organizing a global crosstown walk with a goal of involving faculty and students from around the world in a study of environmental change along socioeconomic gradients. Click on the link below to learn more about this project and how you can be involved.
