On September 22, the Harold and Marguerite Demone Lecture was given by Dr. Robert Pandina, Director of the Center of Alcohol Studies, on The Birth of the “Science” of Alcohol Studies in the United States: The Role of the Center of Alcohol Studies at Yale and Rutgers at Brower Commons, New Brunswick.
The CAS Library was delighted to help with the research and provided information on the topic, capitalizing on the wealth of resources in the Library and Archives. Some of the documents and images discovered during the research came to a surprise to all and inspired further investigation on the history of the filed.
Dr. Pandina expressed his appreciation as follows.
The Library provided vital research and support for my Demone lecture. We dug deep into the archives of the Center to prepare an important overview and perspective. The lecture could not have been accomplished without the careful attention to detail of the library staff.
Robert Pandina, Ph.D.
Director, Center of Alcohol Studies
