I joined the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics (DAFRE) at Rutgers University, New Brunswick over two decades ago. I received my B.Sc. (agri.; with distinction) from the Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat (India); M.Sc. in Human Settlement Development Planning from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok (Thailand); MS in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Lincoln, NE (US); and MS and PhD from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT (US). Prior to joining DAFRE, I worked as a research associate at the Quentin Burdick Center for Cooperatives (QBCC) at North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo, ND (US).

I am the current Graduate Program Director (GPD) of the Graduate Program in Food and Business Economics (http://dafre.rutgers.edu/fbe.html).

I am also a member of the Rutgers University Senate (https://senate.rutgers.edu/) and the New Brunswick Faculty Council (https://nbfc.rutgers.edu/).

I am serving or have served as an editorial board member, associate editor and/or book review editor for several leading journals in agricultural/agribusiness economics, development economics, and management sciences. I regularly serve as a reviewer of manuscripts for academic journals, academic book chapters, and both national and international conferences.

I am currently a member of the following organizations (and have served in various capacities in some of them): American Agricultural Econ. Association (AAEA); American Economic Association (AEA); International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE); Northeast Agriculture and Resource Economics Association (NAREA); Food Distribution Research Society (FDRS); and Gamma Sigma Delta, the Honor Society of Agriculture, Nebraska Chapter.
