Srivatsan Chakram

Professor

I am an experimental quantum physicist engaged in the area of Superconducting Quantum Systems. My current research lies at the interface of quantum information, quantum optics, and condensed matter physics and involves building and studying quantum devices made from superconducting circuits and cavities. We use these devices to build hardware-efficient quantum information processors, explore quantum error correction, perform quantum simulations with photons.

Prior to joining Rutgers, I was a postdoc in the group of David Schuster at the University of Chicago working on superconducting quantum information. I obtained my Ph.D. from Cornell University, working in Mukund Vengalattore ‘s group on cavity optomechanics and ultracold quantum gases. I did my undergraduate studies at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and hail from a small town called Kalpakkam in Southern India.
