Dr. Lauren Neitzke Adamo is an Associate Teaching Professor at Rutgers University who loves helping students, and now young readers, discover the incredible stories hidden beneath our feet. As a geologist and fossil enthusiast, she’s especially excited about Manny the Mastodon, the Ice Age fossil on display at the Rutgers Geology Museum, who inspired this book. Dr. Adamo delights in showing how ancient clues, like giant bones and old rocks, help us imagine what New Jersey looked like long, long ago. When she’s not teaching or visiting Manny, she enjoys sharing her love of rocks, dinosaurs, and fossils with kids who dream of making discoveries of their own. She is incredibly proud of the story the team brought to life and hopes readers will love Manny just as much as she does.
