Mission

Improve water quality to protect human & ecosystem health

Research Focus

Provide a better understanding of contaminant fate in natural and engineered aquatic environments and develop more efficient solutions for surface and groundwater remediation.

Research Interests

– Green infrastructure for urban runoff quality control, e.g., bioretention cells.
– Constructed wetlands for the treatment of various kinds of wastewater, i.e., municipal, agricultural, and industrial effluents.
– Traditional and novel applications and method development in Compound Specific Isotope Analysis (CSIA).
– Groundwater remediation.
– Passive sampling.
– Chemical and microbially-mediated reaction pathways of organic contaminants.
– Microplastics sources, fate, and detection methods.
