Yassin Abdellatif is currently a senior at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, majoring in Cognitive Science and minoring in Psychology. At Rutgers, Yassin has demonstrated a keen interest in developing computational models of cognition. He has a specific interest in applying these types of frameworks in addressing a wide variety of brain diseases, in line with the emerging field of computational psychiatry. His passion for understanding and targeting the root causes of psychopathology, as well as computational models of cognitive processes creates a perfect synergy for his research. Yassin is interested in doing research in this new emerging field of computational psychiatry. Yassin’s goal in joining Dr. Petrovsky’s research team is to grow his experience in the general area of finding new interventions for brain diseases and to apply computational models of cognition in order to create new avenues of treatment for brain diseases like Alzheimer’s.
