The Rutgers graduate student chapter of the National Society for Human Resource Management provides resources, services, and networking opportunities to students interested in being a part of our organization!

Welcome!

RUSHRM is the graduate student chapter of the National Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and is affiliated with the School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR).  We are innovative and award-winning student chapter that is geared toward providing education, networking, and leadership programs to our members.  Between our community outreach and our professional development opportunities, our members become equipped with tools to become top-tier HR leaders.  Furthermore, our collaboration with other entities, such as Career Services and outside SHRM networking groups, has enabled its members to successfully transition from student to employee after graduation.  Our chapter not only promotes our events, but also promotes its members to the business world!

The events we host allow the students to gain a greater understanding of many topics; such as common practices and the future direction of HR, while simultaneously fostering an appreciation for diversity and the global nature of many workplaces.  Ultimately, the RUSHRM Graduate Chapter strives to prepare its members for success within the working world by encouraging out-of-the-box thinking and nurturing the success of its student members.

To learn more about us, feel free to browse through our website and find out how you can join this energetic organization, create partnerships, or sponsor some of our events.

2019 Caterpillar HR College Case Competition

April 10
The 2019 Caterpillar HR College Case Competition is an opportunity for students to gain real-world HR experiences by providing solutions and recommendations for current HR opportunities at Caterpillar Inc., while competing and learning from other students concentrating in the fields of Human Resources and Business. We will be accepting team case competition applications and would like to give your mentees the opportunity to participate in this year’s program. The selected Caterpillar business case will be distributed to all registered student teams mid-February and students will have ~6 weeks to develop the solution(s) that they believe will help address the business need. Final solutions will be virtually presented by student teams to a panel of HR professionals within Caterpillar on April 10 - 12, 2019. The top three rated teams will be awarded cash prizes. Below you will find the registration link for students to sign teams up, as well as an attached FAQs for the case competition. Registration Link: https://www.caterpillarsurveys.com/se/4F5AA3C8171C49E2 Please note, participation in this program does not in any way imply a contract for employment or future consideration of employment, instead offers students the rare glimpse into real HR business opportunities that exist within business units at Caterpillar, Inc.
