Pre-Orientation Checklist

Make sure you read this entire page carefully. It contains many mandatory items you need to accomplish before Orientation begins July 20th, 2026. Below is the checklist of items that must be completed prior to Orientation. Details for each task of the checklist can be found under “Important Requirements”. If you have any questions regarding onboarding, you can reach out to the onboarding coordinators directly (Aditi Gorthy, Rahul Verma, Julie Sung, or Bhakti Vasani).

Pre-Orientation Checklist 

Please note that some dates are subject to change. Please reach out if you have specific questions.

Make sure you complete all of the following tasks by the deadline. For specific instructions to complete each task, visit the Important Requirements page.

  1. Complete all financial aid applications (FAFSA and RBHS)
    1. Please email rbhs_pisc@ofa.rutgers.edu with your netID for any specific questions regarding your financial aid package
    2. Official informational letter from the Office of Financial Aid
  2. Activate your Rutgers NetID and Duo Two-Step Verification by May 4th, 2026; if accepted after that date, please complete this within 5 days of acceptance.
  3. Find housing and roommates (see Housing Information for more resources)
  4. Complete Student Intake Form (due May 15th, 2026)
  5. Rename your student ID photo as LAST_FIRST_NETID and submit it to Rutgers IT and OneDrive (due May 15th, 2026)
    1. Former Rutgers Students, please keep your old ID cards. These will be updated to give you access to the medical school.
    2. If you update your photo you can pick up a free replacement ID from a ID center on campus, or you can just continue using the one you have now! https://ipo.rutgers.edu/publicsafety/iam/student-id (Locations)
    3. If your previous ID was issued before March 2018 you can get a new ID with the updated technology.
  6. Submit Background Check (due May 4th, 2026; initiate request ASAP)
  7. Submit Official Transcripts (due July 3rd, 2026)
    1. Ensure that degree is posted before sending final transcript
    2. BA/MD should not send an official transcript as this has been handled
  8. Upload Student Health Forms (due July 6th, 2026; if accepted on or after June 1st, your forms are due on July 20th, 2026)
  9. Choose “Commit to Enroll” with RWJMS on AMCAS; Withdraw from Waitlists at other institutions (July 1)
  10. Request tickets for the White Coat Ceremony (date TBD)
  11. Get Ahead (Highly suggested):
    1. Biochemistry Self-Assessment Quiz (due July 15th, 2026)
    2. CITI Training
  12. Medical equipment order forms due [TBD] for AMSA discount package. If you are buying them separately, you must have all the required medical equipment for class on August 18th, 2026.
  13. Purchase parking permit (date TBD)
