Ben Lintner is a Professor in Atmospheric Science at Rutgers. His research primarily addresses the question of why it rains where it does, when it does, and how much it does in the Tropics, with specific interests in understanding the controls on large-scale “diagonal” rainfall bands like the South Pacific Convergence Zone and the connection of rainfall to land surface conditions. Ben graduated with a PhD in Physics from the University of California Berkeley, and prior to coming to Rutgers, he was an Associate Researcher at the University of California Los Angeles. He currently serves as an Editor of the Journal of Climate.
