Timeline for the September 2027 Cohort
Applications
Accepted through June 2027
Submit all application materials through the online application.
Interviews
Begin July 2027
Selected candidates are invited to interview with program leadership.
Residency Year
September 2027 – September 2028
Twelve months of full-time clinical practice and didactic learning.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements by the start of the program.
- Be a U.S. citizen, a non-citizen national of the United States, or an individual lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States
- Hold an MSN or DNP from a family or adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner program accredited by the CCNE or ACEN
- Be a new graduate who completed their nurse practitioner program within 18 months of the residency start date
- Hold New Jersey licensure as an advanced practice nurse and national board certification as an FNP or AGPCNP through the ANCC or the AANP Certification Board
- Hold, or be eligible for, DEA registration and New Jersey Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) registration
- Hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Commit to full-time participation and completion of the residency, with the intent to serve rural, urban, and tribal underserved populations
- Complete pre-employment clearance, including a physical examination, annual influenza vaccination, tuberculosis screening, urine drug screen, and background check
