This immersive one-year Nurse Practitioner Residency Program started October 2023, where passionate Nurse Practitioners undergo a metamorphic journey, transitioning from the academic setting to clinically competent primary care providers. Our program offers a unique blend of hands-on clinical experience, mentorship from seasoned professionals, and comprehensive didactic learning to shape the future leaders of advanced practice nursing.

This year’s cohort welcomes Teresa Carney DNP, AGPCNP-BC, Nakeya Gray-Harris DNP, FNP-BC, Jennifer Jacobs MSN, FNP-BC, and Nilesh Modi DNP, FNP-BC.

Clinical Immersion: Our NP Residents dive into the heart of patient care, engaging four days a week at CompleteCare Health Network an Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in southern New Jersey. The NP residents encounter a diverse patient population, gaining invaluable experience while being guided and mentored by established Advanced Practice Nurses and Physicians. This experiential learning forms the cornerstone of their practical knowledge and confidence.

Program Focus: Our program is designed to foster the development of well-rounded Nurse Practitioners. Through a blend of clinical exposure, mentorship, and varied learning methodologies, NP Residents emerge equipped not only with clinical expertise but also with critical thinking skills, empathy, and a holistic approach to patient care.

Clinical Preceptor Michele Fortune MSN, FNP-BC with NP Resident Nilesh Modi participate in active clinical mentorship during patient facing hours.

Didactic Excellence: One day a week is dedicated to structured didactic learning at Rutgers University School of Nursing – Camden. Here, NP Residents experience a multifaceted approach to education. They engage in traditional lecture-style learning, participate in hands-on simulations at the state-of-the-art simulation center, and attend workshops and web-based learning sessions. These diverse avenues contribute synergistically to the program’s primary goal of competency-based NP education.
