After a long wait and some careful planning I was fortunate to do a small amount of fieldwork in New England. I serviced a few instruments of the New England Seismic Transect (NEST) array located along the Mohawk Trail in NY and MA. This is a collaboration with Maureen Long (Yale) and Paul Karabinos (Williams) that will look, among other things, for an ancient seam that joined continents Laurentia and Gondwana in the Berkshires.
It was really good to be able to do hands-on research again, and the instruments I visited really needed to “see someone”, it was long past the regular scheduled visit. All are functioning again. In the image below I am working on a site in Petersburg, NY.
