Day 2 of the DSI 2025 Conference was filled with engaging panels, workshops, and thought-provoking research and pedagogical presentations. One highlight was the Deans’ Panel, organized by professional co-chairs Sandun Perera and Gang Li, and moderated by Steven Carnovale.
Rohit Verma (Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina), Manoj K. Malhotra, Ph.D. (Lehigh University College of Business), Ozgun C. Demirag (Penn State Erie, The Behrend College), and Oya Tukel from New Jersey Institute of Technology shared their inspiring journeys to academic leadership. They also discussed timely issues such as enrollment challenges, financial sustainability, and faculty recruitment.
The discussion was deeply insightful, and I was pleased to spark genuine engagement by raising the question: ‘What keeps deans awake at night?’ The candid and humorous responses we received were highly valuable 😀.
