We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Big Ten and Friends paper workshop on April 12 and 13 at Rutgers Business School. As a reminder, Rutgers will be paying for lodging and meals from the beginning of the conference through the end. Participants are responsible for their own travel.

Where

We will be meeting at the Rutgers Business School in Newark, located at 1 Washington Pk, in Room 982.  You will need to check in with security at the front desk. Dottie Torres will be notifying security that you are arriving.

When

The conference will begin on April 12 at 12:30 PM and continue to about 6PM. We will reconvene on April 13 at 8:30 AM, and continue to about 1 PM. We’ll have a lunch available in the conference room and then depart.

Workshop Format and Paper Schedule

For those of you that have participated in these workshops in the past, you will be familiar with the format. Our goal is to facilitate in depth comments and discussion to help presenters improve on papers that are in the writing stage. The workshop is very open to work an various stages of development. Each paper will be assigned to a commentator, but our hope and expectation is that all the participants will read all the papers and engage in the discussions.

You can find the workshop schedule here

Paper Submission Schedule

February 7: Abstracts Due. Please submit abstracts by this date. This will enable us to match presenters with commentators.

March 29: Drafts Due. We want to make sure that everyone has ample time to read the papers so that the commentators and the participants can comment and rigorously engage with the arguments. So we ask you to please send in your papers by this date.

Lodging

Participants will be staying on April 12 at the Hotel Indigo in downtown Newark. The address is 810 Broad street. The hotel has a free shuttle from the airport and from Newark Penn Station if you are arriving by plane or train. But it will  probably be easier to take a taxi, which should be relatively inexpensive. Check in time is officially 3PM, but you might want to ask about early check-in if you will be arriving in the morning. We will have a shuttle run between the campus and the hotel when the panels are starting and finishing. Valet parking is available at the hotel for a fee of $25 for the night.

If you have any questions about the programing aspects, please  email Kevin ; or Wayne .

For questions related to logistics, please contact our administrator, Dottie Torres by email or by phone at 973-353-5266.
