RE: Undergraduate Updates

Dear BME Undergraduates,

Hello students! I hope everyone’s semester is going well so far. I can’t believe we are about halfway through the fall!

UPDATES

In September, we had our first Sophomore Orientation, followed by a “Welcome Back” Townhall meeting! A lot of
important information was shared at these meetings. For those of you who missed it, here is a link to the recording:

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS
• As a reminder, there is no P/NC option this semester!
October 25 is the LAST day to withdraw from classes with a “W” grade. Please consider this carefully and be
mindful of pre-requisites, and that certain core courses may overlap in the spring. If you have concerns about
your standing in any of your classes, please discuss with your professor before making the decision to withdraw.
You can also make an appointment with me, or your BME advisor to discuss concerns.

o The following core courses are usually offered over the summer (they should be confirmed prior to
Spring 2022 registration)

Sophomore: Intro to BME, Systems Physiology
Junior: Biomaterials, Numerical Modeling

Please review the BME handbook and make sure you are familiar with the core requirements and pre-reqs                                                                                                   needed to move up each grade!

• As directed by the university, BME does not plan to offer any remote options for undergraduate courses in the
Spring 2022 semester.
