BHI-CAHBIR PIlot Grants

To facilitate scanning at CAHBIR, we are pleased to offer 4 grant opportunities.  In addition to scanning on CAHBIR’s state of the art Siemens Prisma 3T magnet, researchers can propose studies that utilize CAHBIR’s  transcranial magnetic stimulation and EEG facilities.  Please note that different grant options have different eligibility requirements.

Collaborative Supplement Grants:  These $60,000 grants allow researchers to add or expand a neuroimaging aim to an existing or pending federal, state or foundation award.  At least one co-PI must be a member of the RU-NB faculty (this can either be a PI for the external award, or a PI added specifically to pursue the neuroimaging aim).  The supplement proposal utilizes a brief 3-page research proposal format, along with a copy of the funded or pending external grant proposal that the applicant proposes to supplement.

Full Research Pilot Grant for RU-NB faculty: The full research pilot grant is for $60,000 and requiers an R21-style proposal. At least one co-PI must be a       tenured or tenure-track faculty member in an RU-NB school.

Mini Research Pilot Grant for RU-NB faculty: Mini-pilot grants are for $40,000 are utilize a brief 3-page research proposal format. At least one co-PI must be a tenured or tenure track faculty member in an RU-NB school.

Mini voucher for RBHS faculty:  RBHS faculty who do not currently have federal funding for grants involving scanning and have exhausted their startup funds are eligible for $20,000 vouchers for scanning and technical services.
