Laura Bond, MD

Division of Clinical Radiation Oncology

I have been the Associate Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at the Steeplechase Cancer Center at Somerset Medical Center, now Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, since it first opened to patient care in 2007. I joined Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School as a Clinical Assistant Professor. In 2015, I graduated from Jefferson Medical College and did my training in Radiation Oncology at New York University/ Bellevue Hospital where I was the chief resident. I am a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology and am board certified by the American Board of Radiology. I am currently involved in the care of all patients that require radiation therapy at RWJ Somerset. I have a particular interest in breast cancer and am part of the multidisciplinary committees that meet weekly to monthly for breast cancer, lung cancer, GU cancers and GI cancers. These committees have surgeons, pathologists, radiologists and oncologists so patient care can be discussed from all angles and we can maximize our expertise in treatment. I am also involved in enrolling our patients on many national protocols that are offered at our center. I was selected to work with our national society ASTRO to review radiation centers across the country for quality of care and certification. Also, I am involved in the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and teach second year medical students. I have lived in NJ most of my life and raised my family here. In my free time, I like to walk, cook, read and travel.
