Welcome to the
Laboratory for Developmental Language Studies
Our lab investigates how children and adults understand language. We have a number of ongoing projects studying how children acquire the meaning of words, how children and adults interpret sentences, and how these two age groups compare with each other developmentally in a number of aspects of language and cognition.
Our lab director is Dr. Kristen Syrett, a Professor in the Department of Linguistics and the Center for Cognitive Science.
