All instructors listed in a Canvas course can add or remove users as needed. Uses can be added with a valid Rutgers NetID or approved outside email address for non-Rutgers users.

In the Canvas course where the user will be added, from the course Navigation links click on People > + People.

Click on the Login ID button > type or paste the NetID for the user(s) being addedMultiple users who share the same role can be added simultaneously by copy and pasting the NetIDs as a list.

In the dropdown menu, select the user role.  Click Next.

If a user is not found, click Back to verify the Login ID.

If a user is found, click Add Users.

The user will display as pending in the People list.  An invitation will be sent from Rutgers University Canvas to the user to accept invitation to participate in the course.

Remove Users

Click on the user’s Option icon > Remove from Course > OK.
