Student and Resident Technology Onboarding
Welcome to the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine! As a new student or resident, there are a number of technology related tasks that you are responsible for completing.
Review and complete all of the tasks below as soon as you are able to do so.
Academic Systems
The Canvas learning management system (LMS) and ExamSoft exam platform will be used extensively during your time at RSDM.

DUO Two-step Login (NetID+)
Duo two-step login (NetID+) helps protect your account by adding an extra layer of security beyond your password. With two-step login, you will need to provide additional confirmation of your identity to gain access to many online resources at the university.

Prepare your Rutgers Connect Account for Graduation
In order to avoid potential interruptions in communicating with potential employers or residency programs upon your graduation, we recommend you immediately prepare your Rutgers Connect account for graduation.

Rutgers Access VPN
Remote access to clinical systems requires use of the Rutgers Access VPN. Students and residents that have been issued a computer managed by RSDM IT must activate their Rutgers Access VPN access. The Cisco AnyConnect VPN client is pre-installed on all computers.

Smartsheet
Requests for time off can be submitted to the Academic Affairs and Clinical Affairs departments via Smartsheet. Doing so requires that you have activated your Smartsheet account. RSDM IT will initiate the account activation process by sending you an invitation shortly after you begin at RSDM.
