As we progress through spring, we would like to provide a high-level Oracle Student Financial Planning (OSFP) project update. As you may know, implementing OSFP is the university’s first step toward moving to Oracle Student Cloud. This implementation will streamline our financial aid processes to improve the experience for students, further enable regulatory compliance, and significantly reduce manual processes allowing for more student-focused interactions.
Functionality Spotlight: Release 1 – ISIR Load
We are on schedule for the first OSFP functionality release this October 2021. This functionality includes the ability to load institutional student information records (ISIRs) into the new system for the 2022-2023 financial aid year. ISIRs are the electronic records of students’ financial information the university receives from the U.S. Department of Education’s Central Processing System (CPS) from Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) data. The ISIR is sent to schools designated by the student on their FAFSA and is the first step in receiving any institutional or federal need-based aid at Rutgers University.
Where We’re Going
Over the next few months, the project team will continue to design and develop required configurations, build and test our inbound and outbound integrations, develop required reports, and prepare for Release 1. We are looking forward to conducting Systems Testing in July and August, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in August and September, and User Training in September and October.
Alliance Virtual Conference 2021
Additionally, this past March 2021 we presented at the Alliance Virtual Conference. The topic was “Rutgers Student Financial Planning – Innovative Approaches in a Complex Implementation”. The presentation materials can be viewed here.
