2. Investigating how properties of the cell membrane (e.g., tension, curvature, composition, interactions with the cytoskeleton) regulate the subcellular distribution and activity of mechanosensitive proteins (e.g., Piezo channels, NINJ1). 

 

 

3. Developing  optical and biophysical tools to manipulate and sense mechanical tension in the membrane.
