A PhD candidate in the Department of Plant Biology at Rutgers University. He is also a Teaching Assistant in Division of Life Sciences at Rutgers. He received his BS in Plant Biotechnology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and worked in the agricultural industry for 2 years in China. His research interests include the diversity and function of bacterial endophytes in cool-season turf grasses.
She received her BS in Industrial Microbiology at University of Puerto Rico and MS in Environmental Sciences at Universidad del Turabo. As a PhD student in the White laboratory, Ive researched growth-promoting, stress alleviating, and phytopathogen inhibiting bacteria that altered the growth and gene expression of cotton roots. She is currently Visiting Faculty at Universidad del Turabo. Her research interests include bioprospecting for growth-promoting endophytic microbes, host responses to endophytes, and fungal-bacterial interactions.
BSc in Biology, MSc in Genetics and Plant Breeding, and currently PhD candidate in Biotechnology from the Federal University of São Carlos, SP – Brazil. Her current research focuses on the interactions between microbes and grasses for plant growth promotion purposes, especially in Bahiagrass (Paspalum notatum). She is also studying the effects of endophytes associated with silica nanoparticles in plants.
A visiting scholar in the Department of Plant Biology at Rutgers University. He is also an associate professor in Department of Bioengineering, school of life science and engineering, Lanzhou University of Technology, China. He received Ph.D. in the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, major in plant physiology and ecology. His research interests mainly focus on plant functional traits diversity and abiotic stresses physiology in arid region. Shanjia currently worked on bacterial endophytes and wheat interactions.

A PhD candidate in the department of Microbiology and Molecular Biology. She is also a lecturer in the department of Botany at the Women University, Multan, Pakistan. Her researcher work is emphasized on bacterial endophytes of Helianthus annuus (Sunflower).
As a visiting scientist she worked on the biocontrol of sunflower associated endophytes against multiple fungal strains.
An assistant researcher from Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences. My current research focuses on bacterial diversity and function of saline agricultural ecosystems. One part of my project is related to plant-microbe interactions, especially to reveal how plants use microbiomes as sources of nutrients and defense.
Shuai is currently evaluating the effects of microbes from wheat on other crop plants.
Undergraduate researcher
Graduated 2019 from Rutgers-School of Environmental and Biological Sciences earning her Batchelor degree in Environmental and Business Economics, minoring in Plant Science. She currently works at the NJAES Research Greenhouse.
Her research interests include: agri-business, mechanical/electrical engineering, medicinal and useful plant applications, and creative problem solving. She has also worked on the Pollinator Project with the IR-4 at Rutgers University.
Emiko graduated with a BS in 2022 from the Biotechnology program with a concentration in microbes at Rutgers University. She worked under Celeste Zhang from 2021-2022 to study microbial interactions from desert agave plants.

Graduated 2019 earning her Batchelor degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Psychology at Rutgers University. She also works as a tutor in Math, Chemistry, Gujarati and Hindi Languages for High school and Middle school students since 2016. Hetal has a passion for research. Her previous research experience in water testing at Middlesex community college.
After graduation, she hopes to work in research and development for a pharmaceutical company.

An undergraduate Rutgers student studying towards a Cell Biology and Neuroscience major with a minor in psychology. He is looking to pursue a career as a doctor in the field of medicine after the completion of college. His interest in research began in the first year of college, when a professor introduced him to their laboratory. He quickly became intrigued with the idea of someday conducting his own research project and after months of working with an graduate student he was finally given the opportunity to start his own project.
Yashas has completed his project with endophytic bacteria inoculated from Golden Aster seeds.
An undergraduate student enrolled in the Rutgers-School of Environmental and Biological Sciences with a major in biology. After graduation, she hopes to go to medical school and become a doctor and to become a great researcher in the medical field.
In 2018 she worked with endophytic bacteria inoculated from Poa annua seeds and helped Kate Kingsley and Dr. White conduct various experiments with the bacteria. Additionally, she helps maintain lab equipment and help others set up their experiments as well.
An undergraduate Rutgers student majoring in Biotechnology and minoring in Public Health. She is hoping to pursue a career in medicine as a physician after completing her undergraduate degree. She is currently interning with Kate Kingsley and is working independently on the Spartina patens project.
