REU At-a-glance

Here are some interesting numbers at a glance about our REU Site.

In 14 summers, our site has:

  • Hosted 134 students
  • From 85 different home institutions
  • That are located in 35 different states plus Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands

The students have:

  • Contributed to 14 peer-reviewed journal publications
  • Given 78 conference presentations
  • Won 11 NSF Graduate Research Fellowships and received Honorable Mention 7 times

Of the students who have completed their undergraduate studies:

  • 81% have completed or are pursuing an advanced degree of any kind
  • 53% have completed or are pursuing a PhD
  • 20% have completed or are pursuing a STEM-based Masters degree
  • The remaining students have completed/are pursuing an MD/PhD (2), MBA (2), MD (4), DDS (1), or JD (1)
