On May 20-23 this year, Rutgers linguists gave three presentations at the 57th Annual Conference on African Linguistics (ACAL 57) in Buffalo, New York.
Dr. Ryan Walter Smith and Dr. Maria Kouneli presented a joint talk on “(In)direct causatives in Kipsigis,” Thuy-Thuong (Beryl) Bui and Ariela Ye gave a talk titled “When causatives really iterate: The case of Baatonum,” and Jiayuan Chen and Ariela Ye gave a talk on “Demonstratives and anti-uniqueness in Baatonum.” To read their abstracts, click the links throughout.
