Cisco WebEx enables users to host and participate in virtual meetings from any internet connected computer or mobile device. Rutgers provides WebEx access to all faculty, staff, and students.

 

The WebEx Product Suite

The Cisco WebEx suite of services includes WebEx Meetings, Training, and Events. Although these services share most WebEx features, there are a few key features in each of the services that make them unique.

WebEx Meetings is best fit for scheduled or impromptu meetings involving both internal and external collaborators. With the ability to conduct break-out sessions and attach course materials, WebEx Training is designed for conducting online training or distance learning classes. Finally, WebEx Events is designed for conducting large events, such as virtual conferences with up to 3,000 attendees.

Compatible Devices

WebEx video conferences can be joined from any internet connected computer or mobile device. Audio and video can be transmitted through your device’s internal microphone and camera (laptops, phones, tablets) or an externally attached microphone or camera such as a USB webcam attached to a computer. If internal or externally attached microphone is not available, attendees have the option of calling in using a phone.
