Dr. Kristen Syrett, Dr. Jennifer Austin, Dr. Liliana Sanchez, Anne Lingwall, and Silvia Perez-Cortes presented their poster, “Investigations into the calculation of scalar implicatures by Spanish-English bilingual preschoolers,” at the Hispanic Linguistics Symposium at the University of Ottawa. Liliana was one of the invited speakers at the conference!
The team also presented this research on bilingualism as a talk entitled, “How Spanish-English bilingual children approach entailment-based scalar implicatures,” at the Workshop on the Acquisition of Quantification at UMass-Amherst earlier in October. Undergrad RAs Hannah Baker, Christina Germak, and Anthony Arias-Amaya joined as coauthors on this talk.
