In June, current graduate student Gérard Avelino gave two talks at the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Austronesian Formal Linguistics Association (AFLA 32) at Atma Jaya Catholic University in Jakarta, Indonesia.

On June 3, he presented joint work with Jed Sam Pizarro-Guevara (University of Massachusetts Amherst). The title of their talk was “Is Non-Canonical Sluicing Related to Exceptional Agent-Extraction in Tagalog?” Then on June 4, Gérard gave a solo presentation titled “The Case of Tagalog Case: Revisiting Ditransitives.”
