During the summer, graduate student Vincent Czarnecki taught two sessions for a mini-course titled “Introduction to Subregular Linguistics: Syntax” at The Africa Computational Linguistics Summer School (Africomplings). This is a completely online summer school focusing on topics in computational linguistics geared toward linguists in Africa. The sessions served as a brief intro to current research in computational syntax, including: introductory mathematical methods, phrase structure rewrite grammars, minimalist grammars, dependency trees, TSL syntax, etc.
