EOF Confirmation Process

EOF Eligibility & Financial Aid Document Submission

To be officially confirmed as EOF eligible, all incoming admitted scholars must complete an income verification process through the Office of Financial Aid. This process requires submission of specific financial documents.

Deadline: June 1st

All financial documents must be submitted and tracked by June 1st in order to participate in the Summer Institute.

Step 1: Complete Your Financial Aid Application
Step 2: Create & Log in to HESAA/NJFAMS

  • Visit: www.hesaa.org

  • Log in to your NJFAMS account

  • Review your “To Do List” and upload any requested forms

Step 3: Upload Financial Documents to Rutgers Portal

  1. Activate your Rutgers NetID

  2. Log in to my.rutgers.edu

  3. Locate the “My Financial Aid” widget

  4. Go to the Documents tab

  5. Click the “Requested” button to access the Financial Aid Student Portal

  6. Upload all required documents

Note: Pay close attention to the “Owner” column to determine whether a document is for the Student or Parent.

Parent Access Instructions

Parents of dependent students must:

  • Create a CommunityID

  • Gain access via the myGuest Dashboard

  • Grant Custodial permission level under the Financial Aid Records section
    This will enable parents to sign documents electronically.

Important IRS Forms

➡️ Do not submit signed 1040 forms.
They are not accepted as proof for income verification.
You must request official IRS forms:

Commonly Requested Documents

  • 2023 IRS Tax Return Transcript (for student and/or parents, if taxes were filed)

  • 2023 W-2 Forms or IRS Wage & Income Statement

  • IRS Non-Filer Verification Statement (if no taxes were filed)
    → Use Form 4506-T, check Box 7, and submit to IRS

  • Verification Worksheet (household members)

  • Monthly Expense & Resource Statement

  • Verification of Child Support Received/Paid (2023)

  • Verification of SNAP Benefits Received (2023)

  • Asset Verification Worksheet (Required for all students)
