Paula Venable has worked with nursing students for over 25 years. Her greatest joy is helping minority nursing students pursue their dream of becoming nurses. Her mission is to ensure that there are future generations of nurses who are delivering culturally competent care to the communities they serve. She is passionate about nursing and is truly committed to helping her students become Distinguished Rutgers Nurses.
In addition to serving as a Senior Counselor of Special Programs, she is the Admissions Administrator for the SON EOF Program. Among her many responsibilities, she recruits, admits and promotes retention strategies for students accepted into the Rutgers School of Nursing Educational Opportunity Fund Program. Additionally, she is also the Director of the Pre-Junior Clinical program. This program is an introduction to the clinical experience and is designed to help prepare students for upper division nursing courses.
She received her B.A. in Psychology from Trenton State College (The College of New Jersey) and her M.A. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from the University of New Haven. She is a PROUD EOF Alum.
