What to Expect
2025 Summer Institute
Program Dates: June 29 – August 7, 2025
The SN-EOF Summer Institute is a mandatory, in-person six-week residential program designed to prepare incoming Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) scholars for academic success at Rutgers University–Newark School of Nursing.
All incoming SN-EOF scholars will:
- Live on campus for the full duration of the program
- Receive supplemental instruction and academic support in:
- Math
- Literature & English Composition
- Creative Thinking Skills
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Enroll in a 3-credit course in Principles of Psychology, which counts toward the nursing curriculum
- Participate in enrichment activities designed to strengthen their academic and personal development
The Summer Institute also offers scholars the opportunity to:
- Build strong relationships with peers and form a support network
- Connect with EOF counselors, faculty, and staff
- Learn campus resources and expectations, helping ease the transition to college life
Important Information

Move-In Day: Sunday, June 29, 2025 (specific details to follow)

Successful completion of the Summer Institute is required for admission to the Rutgers School of Nursing through the EOF program

Students must be confirmed eligible by the Office of Financial Aid to participate

Participation in SOAR Orientation and completion of placement testing are also required prior to the start of the program
