We are thrilled to announce that CDR’s own Tannaz Ramezani (Ph.D. student in Dr. Michniak-Kohn’s research group) has been named one of five winners in the Catalent Applied Drug Delivery Institute and American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) “Global Academic Competition for Life Science Leaders of Tomorrow.”
Tannaz was chosen from leading U.S. and International universities with graduate programs in pharmaceutical science for her work entitled, “Stem Cells as Novel Carriers for Cancer Therapy”. She will receive a cash prize of $2,000 and annual membership to the AAPS.
This annual competition aims to identify emerging scientific talent, foster drug delivery education and reward academic excellence and competition entries consisted of original review articles addressing topics such as drug development, delivery technologies, improving therapeutic profiles and bioavailability, pre-formulation, and pediatric drugs. The academic competition reflects the Institute’s commitment to fostering education, collaboration, and adoption of drug delivery technologies to develop better treatments for patients.
Tannaz is in her penultimate year of studies at Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy and her doctoral thesis is based on novel nanosphere based delivery of drugs to hair follicles. Currently she is doing a summer internship with Merck in PA.
Congratulations to Tannaz on this achievement!
